KCR and Cricket connection: TRS bowls over youth!!

Count on KCR to come up with innovative strategies to win over the voters. Realising that Telangana sentiment will no longer work and that the young voters are disenchanted with the TRS rule, KCR has come up with a unique strategy to get the young voters back on to his side. The innovative strategy is the CM cup cricket tournament that was held across the state in April.
During the month of May, the CM cup tourney was held from May 15 till April 31 across the state of Telangana. Hundreds of teams and thousands of players joined the tourney. In all, over 3.5 lakh youths came into contact with the organisers, who collected their addresses, email IDs and phone numbers in a systematic manner.
The names of their parents and their phone numbers were also collected. All the participants were given certificates bearing CM's image. This vast database of the youths is being used to contact and influence them. The event was used to promote the TRS party and its symbol in a big way. The data is being used to identify their political preferences and other relevant patterns.
The party has reportedly spent Rs 20 crore to conduct this sports event. While some part of the expenditure was borne by the Sports Authority of Telangana, the remaining amount was spent from the party leaders' coffers. Sources say that this scheme is similar to the Khela Hobe scheme that Mamta Didi has used to win over the youth in West Bengal.
