KCR on alert as surveys indicate growing youth support to BJP
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 May 2023 2:41 PM ISTThe ruling TRS is said to be worried over the internal reports which have said that the BJP could pose a serious threat to it in three of the undivided districts of North Telangana. The party leadership reportedly was shocked by the reports that the youth were moving away from the TRS and were going over to the BJP in Nizamabad, Adilabad and Karimnagar districts.
The BJP currently has MPs in these three Lok Sabha constituencies. While Bandi Sanjay represents Karimnagar, Arvind Dharmapuri and Soyam Bapurao represent the Nizamabad and Adilabad constituencies respectively. The reports suggested that the BJP would win five of the nine assembly seats in Nizamabad and could retin the lok sabha seat in the next elections. This is said to have jolted CM KCR.
The Congress is said to be strong only in four of the seats in Karimnagar district. Except that, the fight would be mainly between the TRS and the BJP, the survey reports suggested. According to the reports, the youth are getting attracted to the BJP in a big way in the north Telangana region. The TRS sources said that the chief minister had already alerted the party leaders about the challenge from the BJP.
KCR is said to have recently held a review meeting with the party leaders from these three districts and is said to have asked them to work hard to wean away the youth from the BJP. He is reported to have told the party leaders that the functioning of an MLA who is currently holding a cabinet rank post is quite below par and that his chances of winning are bleak.
