KCR seriously worried over gender offences of his MLAs
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Jun 2023 3:49 PM ISTThe TRS big boss is said to be taking a serious view about the growing instances of the party MLAs getting embroiled in sexual harassment. He is said to have already spoken to quite a few MLAs, believed to have been involved in such cases of gender harassment. Inquiries commissioned by KCR too have proved that several MLAs were complicit in such cases.
Recently, the issue of Mancherial MLA Durgam China Mallaiah has been making it to the headlines. A top functionary of a dairy firm has accused him of sexually harassing her. Not just that. She had gone ahead and filed complaints against him in the Human Rights Commission and the police. She even attempted suicide in New Delhi. Sources say that KCR got the allegations probed and found them to have considerable substance.
He is said to have severely reprimanded the MLA and reportedly asked him to mend his ways. Even KTR is said to have told him to clear himself of the allegations. If highly placed sources are to be believed, KCR is seriously mulling over not giving a party ticket to Durgam China Mallaiah. He feels that this would help clean up the partyâs image.
It may be recalled that Station Ghanpur MLA and former deputy chief minister Dr Rajaiah too was embroiled in such allegations. Similarly, Vanama Raghava, son of MLA Vanama Venkateshwarlu too was found to have been involved in such cases. Several other BRS leaders too are facing these allegations. The party is said to be worried about the fallout of such instances and is apprehensive that women voters might move away from the party.
