Khammam meeting Why TRS leaders are a worried lot?
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Jan 2023 6:21 AM GMTThe BRS leaders are now forced to loosen their purse strings for the upcoming public meeting in Khammam. The BRS, which has made this meeting a prestige issue, is leaving no stone unturned to make it a massive success. The party has asked the MLAs and ministers from neighbouring districts such as Karimnagar, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagam, Suryapet and Kothagudem to marshal all their resources to ensure a massive turnout at the public meeting.
The BRS wants this meet to be a huge one as it is the first public meeting after the name of the party has been changed. Secondly, it also wants to show that there is virtually no impact of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy's parting of ways. But, herein lies the catch for the TRS leaders.
Their problem is that they are reportedly asked to mobilise financial resources for getting the crowds. They have been asked to take care of the transport charges, food and wages for the people attending the meeting. This is being seen by many leaders as a huge burden on their finances. Most leaders are worried that they have to spend from the amounts they have reserved to fight the next elections.
Many leaders of the BRS feel that they cannot go to their funders as they need to go them very soon to support their election campaign. As a result, they feel that the proposed public meeting will only leave them with a big hole in their pockets. But, they cannot even think of defying KCR's diktats.
