Virat Kohli suffered big time with a rough patch for over three years. As they always say the comeback is always greater than the setback, Kohli came back and since then there is no looking back. He got his Midas touch with a stunning century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022.
Though India was knocked out of the tournament, Virat Kohli got his form. He started the T20 World Cup with match-winning innings. He was the lone warrior in the first match against arch-rivals Pakistan. In the match against South Africa, he became the second-highest run-scorer in T20 WorldCup.
Adding another feather to his illustrious cap, Virat Kohli became the highest run scorer in the T20 World Cups. He has made 1065 in all the tournaments so far. Kohli broke the record held by Sri Lanka's great Mahela Jayawardene who scored 1016 runs.
Mahela Jayawardene held the record for around eight years which was now broken by King Kohli. Kohli always had a good record in the T20 World Cups. He started his first T20 Tournament back in 2012 on a good note and scored 185 runs. In 2016 Kohli was one of the highest run scorers.
Virat Kohli also has the highest number of the fifties in the T20 World Cups. So far, King Kohli scored three half-centuries in four matches he played and 82 (53) is the best score he scored against Pakistan. Kohli has a good record against Pakistan and took forward his record with the innings.
