KTR Disappoints former mayor

BRS boss Kalwakuntla Tarak Ramarao aka KTR has virtually poured water over the hopes of several key leaders, including mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and former mayor Bonthu Rammohan that they should stop dreaming of getting BRS party tickets to contest as MLAs in the upcoming elections.
In a meeting with the party's GHMC corporators on Tuesday, KTR clearly told them that none of them would be given the party tickets for the ensuing elections. He said that the sitting MLAs would be repeated in most cases and alternative candidates would be fielded where necessary. He also told them that there is no chance for any of the corporators this time.
At least 10 of the BRS corporators are vigorously lobbying for the MLA tickets. These corporators have already set up offices and have begun meeting the voters in their areas. Especially former mayor Bonthu Rammohan is aspiring to get the party ticket from Uppal. Since demitting mayoral office, Bonthu has been in political wilderness. He has been denied an MLC ticket in the past.
As of now, his wife Sridevi, is the corporator from Charlapalli division. Beyond that, Rammohan has no importance in the party. The Uppal constituency that he is coveting has too many claimants. Sitting MLA Beti Subhash Reddy and Bandaru Raji Reddy are already in the fray. Hence, KTR has sent clear signals that Bonthu may have to back down this time.
