KTR Inspects Bathukamma Saree Displays

Ahead of the floral festival Bathukamma which falls on October 17, Minister of MA&UD, Industries, and IT&C Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao has inspected the sarees which will be distributed to the beneficiaries.
KTR was accompanied by Telangana Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Minister for Women, Child, and Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod when he visited the Haritha Plaza hotel in Hyderabad to inspect the Bathukamma sarees.
As per the information, the Telangana government has allocated Rs 317.81 crore for Bathukamma sarees distribution. Distributing Bathukamma sarees is an annual practice of the Telangana government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Around one crore beautiful sarees will be distributed to the beneficiaries, women who are below the poverty line as a festival gift. The Bathukamma sarees are manufactured in 287 designs.
The saree distribution will begin on October 9. Given the COVID-19 outbreak, the government has decided to deliver the sarees to the doorsteps of the beneficiaries as a safety measure.
