If Rahul Gandhi can undertake a padayatra, why can't Nara Lokesh. If all goes well, Nara Lokesh will undertake a massive 450-day long padayatra from Kuppam in Chittoor district to Ichapuram in Srikakulam. The yatra will begin on January 27 next year and will end in March 2024, just ahead of the assembly elections.

Lokesh will cover most of the assembly constituencies in the state and will use the padayatra to rejuvenate the party in Andhra Pradesh. As of now, the party does not have suitable candidates in most of the constituencies that it had lost in 2019. Also, the organizational infrastructure is quite weak. In addition, rampant groupism is eating into the vitals of the party.

Lokesh wants to improve the situation and strengthen the TDP for the upcoming elections. He feels that the yatra will help the party rejuvenate and reinvent itself. The party is said to be working out the details of the yatra route and the halting points. Efforts are also being made to attract all the sections of the society.

Lokesh has been keeping a low profile these days. Sources say he is working on improving his image and looks to become acceptable to the young voters of the state. He is also said to be working hard on his speaking skills. Special coaching is being given to Lokesh on his appearance, dressing and speaking skills.
