Lord Hanuman Becomes Main Issue In Karnataka Polls!
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 May 2023 5:51 PM GMTWhenever there are elections in any state, the main focus would be on the promises the parties would make. Both ruling and opposition parties would go for massive promises and these promises would be a deciding factor. We have seen this in Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 general elections.
Initially, election promises caught everyone's attention in Karnataka before the elections. The ruling BJP annpounced that three gas cylinders would be given in one year. Congress announced that the gas cylinder prices will be brought down to Rs 500 each to help the people.
But things went upside down and Lord Hanuman took center stage in Karnataka amid the elections. The Karnataka wing of BJP reportedly announced that it would ban the right-wing organisation Bajrang Dal if voted to power. This gave a big weapon for the BJP and it used it the maximum.
During the campaign, PM Narendra Modi used Jai Bajrang Bali slogans in the state and this gave a strong message that it is against the decision of the Congress. The BJP planned a campaign to recite Hanuman Chalisa in the state.
The right-wing bodies VHP and Bajrang Dal came into the picture and Hanuman Chalisa is said to have recited in various areas. With this, all the issues related to elections got sidelined and only Hanuman and Hanuman Chalisa took center stage.
We can understand the impact the Hanuman Chalisa is playing in the elections as CM Basavaraj Bommai is also believed to recited Hanuman Chalisa while waiting to cast his vote in the pooling booth.
