By: Tupaki Desk | 12 July 2022 5:00 AM GMTBJP's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu has cancelled her tour of Telangana. She was to land at Begumpet airport on Tuesday afternoon. She was to hold a meeting with the MPs and MLAs at the airport itself and then head to Andhra Pradesh for campaigning. However, BJP sources said that she will not make a stopover at Begumpet.
Those in the know say that real-politic is behind the decision to cancel Murmu's tour of Telangana. In Telangana, she may not get any vote except from those in the BJP. The Congress, the TRS and the MIM would not vote for her in any case. The three MLAS and four MPs from the BJP would vote for regardless of whether she campaigns. So, she decided to skip Telangana.

Sources say that Murmu would undertakiethe campaign in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, where she is likely to get the votes of both the YSRCP and the TDP. The MLAs and the MPs from the state will vote for her en masse though they do not belong to the BJP. Hence, she has planned to spend more time in AP.
The presidential elections would be held on July 16 and BJP's Draupadi Murmu is fancied to win in a facile manner. Besides the BJP, parties like the AIADMK, YSRCP and the BJP have decided to support her. She is also likely to get the support of the Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, Jarkhand Mukti Morcha and other smaller parties.
