National Average Of Marriage Age in Girls Increased!

Gone are the days when parents of girls preferred marrying off their daughters. The mindsets of girls and their parents changed as parents are not showing any difference between sons and daughters. Girls are also preferring higher studies than marriages. This was not the case a couple of decades back.
Now a new thing has come out which says that the average marriage age of women in India increased over the years. The average age increased by one year. The survey result said that in 2017, the average age of women stood at 22.1 years. Cut to three years later, the age rose to 22.7 years.
If we look at the states with the highest and lowest average age, Kashmir stands at the top. The survey says that girls get married in Kashmir at an average age of 26. Jharkhand and Bengal states recorded the lowest average as girls marry at less than 21.
Looking at the reasons for this, parents are not showing any discrimination and supporting girls in achieving their dreams. Be it sports, education, or others, they are not stopping women from moving towards their aims and achieving them.
On the other hand, girls are showing interest in making a career and reaching the heights they want. They prefer a career over marriage. All these factors resulted in the average marriage age of girls increasing.
