Nandamuri Balakrishna entered into politics as the successor of NT Rama Rao in 2014. He preferred contesting from Hindupur constituency where TDP won every election since it's inception. As expected, The Actor-turned-Politician won with a margin of around 16,000 votes.
In 2019 Polls, Balakrishna is likely to face a tough opposition from Naveen Nischal. This YCP Leader is garnering the attention of everyone with his aggressive approach. He was the one who launched 'Janatha Canteens' modeled after 'Amma Canteens' in Hindupur to provide food to weaker sections for subsidized prices.
In his recent interview, Naveen Nischal said: 'If I was given Hindupur YCP Ticket in next elections, I will surely defeat Balakrishna in the TDP bastion. Ready to tonsure half of my head if I fail to do so'.
Much to everyone shock, This YCP Leader declared what happened in 2014 Polls isn't a real victory for Balakrishna at all. He dared to question, 'Why did Balayya contest in elections when he can't do justice for the people who voted for him?'.
