Ever since former Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy resigned as a legislator and joined the Telangana wing of the BJP, everyone is waiting for the bypoll to get commenced so that the suspense on which party would win the election would be cleared. The long wait is finally over now.

Putting an end to the wait, the Election Commission of India has issued the election notification for the Munugode by-poll along with the elections in other states. The much-awaited Munugode by-election will be held on the 3rd of November.

The details mentioned in the bypoll notification say that the Gazette notification will be issued on the 7th of October. The candidates can file their nominations till October 14th and it is the last date. The nominations will be Scrutinied on October 15th and upto 17th they can withdraw the nominations.

The by-poll gave two months of preparation time for the three major parties for the big test. The opposition parties Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party are a few steps ahead compared to the ruling party TRS as the two parties also fixed their nomination.

The rebel Congress leader Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, who shifted his loyalties to the BJP by stepping down as MLA and Congress party was announced as the party candidate.

It is no wonder that BJP announced Raj Gopal Reddy as the candidate. It was almost confirmed that the former MLA would join the party and be the party candidate for the by-polls. Making the media reports true, the former MLA wore a BJP shawl and became the candidate.

Coming to the Congress party, winning the by-poll is a prestige issue as the MLA resigned from the post and party membership and joined the saffron party. So Congress wants to win the polls and give a strong message to the BJP and TRS that the party is not weak with Raj Gopal Reddy leaving the party.

On the flip side, TRS is also focusing on the by-polls and wants to win it as the political experts say that, the Munugode by-poll might decide the public opinion on the upcoming general polls in the state. TRS is yet to announce the candidate.
