We can see Indians living in big numbers in many countries and holding good positions. A few nations; like the United States and Canada, almost became a second home for Indians. Indian origin Kamala Hariss is serving as the Vice President of the United States and a few people are serving as the MPs in Canada.
It is known that Rishi Sunak became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom recently after the members of the house supported him keeping faith in his capabilities that he can bring the nation out of the economic crisis as he is good with finances.
Now new data shows that Indians are in big numbers in England and Wales and they are the highest number of non-UK-born people there. The information is shared by census data which says that the Indian population is in big numbers in the two regions.
There are ten million residents in England and Wales who were not born there. The numbers say the population increased rapidly compared to the last decades, Back in 2011 the population was just 75 lakhs. There are over 9.2 lakh Indians among them making them the highest population in the UK who are not born there.
The Office for National Statistics shared the data of the census which shows the Indian population increased massively in the United Kingdom since 2011 and they make up 1.5 percent of the population.
The usual residents of England and Wales have increased to a point that every one person in six are them. Indians are at the top position followed by Poland and Pakistan who make up a percentage of 1.2 percent and 1 percent respectively.
"One in six, or 10 million [16.8%], usual residents of England and Wales were born outside the UK on Census Day, 21 March 2021, an increase from 7.5 million [13.4%] in 2011," the office said on the rise in the population.
Besides the US, Indians also eye other western nations for employment or studies and the United Kingdom is one of them. Once they get a good place people settle there and start a family which is the reason for this.
