Villagers Tell Bill Collector To Take Current Dues From Congress!

The political parties in the country are divided over the stand on freebies. The Bharatiya Janata Party and a few other parties are against the freebies saying that they would impact the economy which is a big risk. However, ruling parties in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and others said that the schemes are not freebies but welfare.

However, the freebies are still proving to be successful for the parties. We have seen this with the recent Karnataka Assembly elections. The grand old Congress party recorded a super victory and crushed the Bharatiya Janata Party.

It is not a secret that the freebies played a key role in this. Voters preferred Congress over BJP seeing the freebies. But it appears that the freebies would turn costly for the Congress party as thousands of crores are required every year to fulfill the promises.

Now a shocking thing happened in Karnataka. People in a village reportedly said that they will not pay the current bill and asked the authorities to take the bills from the Congress party which came to power. This happened in the Chitradurga village as per a viral video.

When an electricity bill collector went to the Chitradurga village to collect the electricity dues, he faced a big shock as the villages said they will not pay and the government said current will be given for free. The collector tried to make the villagers understand that they have to pay the current bill this month and wait for what the government will say on this, villagers showed no interest in this.

The electricity department official told the villagers that they will follow the orders of the government if it says electricity is free. But till then they have to pay the dues. But the villagers did not listen to this and said that Congress announced that electricity is free if voted to power and hence it is free. Seeing the villagers' adamant nature, the official left. The incident raised many eyeballs.

Providing 200 units of power for every household per month is one of the promises the Congress party made. The villagers took the promise seriously and said that they will not pay the dues.
