PK says Rahul's Bharat Jodo should have begun from Gujarat
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Sep 2022 6:37 AM GMTPrasant Kishor, who had almost joined the Congress Party and had advised both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for some time, is unhappy with the way the Bharat Jodi yatra of Rahul Gandhi is going. He felt that while the yatra is a good initiative, it has failed to take the bull by its horn. He said the yatra might not achieve its objectives.
Addressing a meeting of the supporters of a separate Vidarbha state, Prashant Kishor said that the yatra should have begun from poll-bound Gujarat or some BJP-ruled state to send out a message of strength and determination. However, the yatra is mostly focusing on places where it is already strong such as Kerala, he said.
He said that by launching the yatra from Gujarat or some BJP-ruled state, Rajiv Gandhi would have sent a clear message to the people at large that he means business and that he is determined to take the BJP head-on. However, he chose Kerala, PK said. It may be recalled that the CPM too has slammed Rahul Gandhi for spending as many as 18 days in Kerala, which has only 19 MP seats, while allocating just 2 days for Uttar Pradesh, which has 80 seats. The Left has said that this showed Rahul Gandhi's lopsided priorities.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi's yatra is drawing considerable crowds all along the route in Kerala. Rahul Gandhi himself is an MP from Kerala's Wayanad lok sabha constituency. The Congress has 18 of the 19 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, but lost badly to the CPM-led Left Front in the assembly elections held later.
