PM Modi Degree Row: Court Says No To Preponement!

It is known that a controversy has been doing rounds about the education degree of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the past few years, petitioners have been trying hard to get information about the degree and certificate of Narendra Modi. Now the case saw a big development.
A petition was filed with the Delhi High Court seeking directives to advance the date of the hearing of Delhi University (DU)'s plea. The petition was filed to challenge the directives issued by the Central Information Commission (CIC). However, the High Court said the hearing cannot be preponed.
Justice Subramonium Prasad who heard the case said that the petition is listed on October 13th and it would be heard on the same date. Refusing the plea to prepone the hearing, the Justice said that the petition didn't impress me on why the advancing should be done, reports said.
The issue goes back to 2016. After several doubts were raised, many people like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Neeraj Kumar have been waging a legal battle to get the details of Narendra Modi's degree. In the same year, the then CIC M Sridhar Acharyulu issued directives to Delhi University and Gujarat University to provide information to Kejriwal.
Later, the issue went to the notice of the courts. However, the issue has been getting postponed regularly. Earlier, Gujarat University is said to have expressed concerns about revealing the details of the students who graduated in the academic year of 1878.
The opposition leaders like Arvind Kejriwal often target the BJP and Narendra Modi on why the educational details of him are hidden. People wonder what the opposition parties want to do with the educational details of the Prime Minister and why they are focusing on this.
