Prez Polls: Opposition Candidate Desperate To Get Support!

The D-day for the Presidential polls has come finally and the Parliament and the state assemblies are decked up for the voting process. Given the strength of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) alliance and the friendly parties have, Draupadi Murmu has a clear advantage and she is likely to emerge victorious in the polls.

Opposition Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha, who has been giving his best for the polls to gather support has once again raised the issue of democracy ahead of the polls. Ahead of the polls, Mr. Sinha spoke to the media and urged the legislators to cast vote for him if they want democracy to prevail.

Ever since Yashwant Sinha was announced as the Presidential candidate, he has been projecting himself as the savior of democracy. Not just that, he also dubbed Draupadi Murmu, the NDA candidate as a rubber stamp candidate who would say yes to everything the BJP says.

As the BJP supporters are hoping that the saffron party would start the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), he assured them that he will make sure the exercise will not happen.

Before the voting started, Yashwant Sinha stressed democracy and urged the legislators in the country to remember one thing the polls will determine the fate of the democracy and if the democracy will be there in the country or not. Mr. Sinha also said that the Presidential polls episode is a divider that says if we are going in the right decision or not.

These comments from the former member of the Bharatiya Janata Party look desperate. His winning chances are very less and he wants to improve his chances. He even requested the BJP leaders to vote for him if they want to see the BJP how it used to be under Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Murmu appears to be a clear winner. Many parties and leaders are voting for her as no ST candidate was made the President earlier. On the other hand, parties that want to be in the good books of the saffron party are also supporting Murmu.
