Pro-TDP Amaravati yatris attack NTR, face counter-attack from fans

Pro-Amaravati yatra of TDP-sponsored activists in North Andhra appears to be having unintended consequences for the TDP. The party leaders and farmer-activists seem to prefer to target actor Junior NTR more than their bete noire YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They, however, appear to have not bargained for a strong tongue-lashing by NTR fans.
As part of their yatra, the pro-Amaravati farmers attacked NTR during their public meetings. They said NTR should support the padayatra if he were the true grandson of late NTR. They said that Junior NTR was sitting on the fence on this issue. They even said that they did not need NTR to lift the party out of the present morass. They said they would do it themselves.
However, their verbal attack did not go down well with NTR fans. The NTR fans slammed the TDP-sponsored yatris and asked them not to drag the actor into unnecessary controversies. They demanded an apology from the pro-Amaravati farmer yatris and asked not to vilify their favourite actor.
A section of the TDP workers have been demanding that NTR enter the TDP, play an active role and bail out the beleaguered TDP. Such demands have been voiced right in front of Chandrababu Naidu too. However, Chandrababu, who wants to promote his son Lokesh Naidu, has been consistently opposing NTR. The section is said to be dominating the farmers’ yatra and it is this section that has tried to attack Junior NTR.
