As announced earlier, Run Machine Virat Kohli had stepped down as the T 20 skipper after India's exit from the T 20 World Cup. India's match with Namibia was the last outing for Virat Kohli as captain. He was replaced by Hitman Rohit Sharma as the captain for the shorter format of the game.

Besides Virat Kohli, the T20 World Cup Tournament was also the last for team India's head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar. The tenure for their services to the Indian side was ended and they bid goodbye to the team.

The outgoing coaches of team India got a thank you note from none other than Virat Kohli who travelled with him for four years. Virat Kohli thanked the trio for the memories they gave and the journey they had as a team. Kohli said, in the history of Indian cricket, the contribution they made will be remembered.

"Thank you for all the memories and the amazing journey we've had as a team with you all. Your contribution has been immense and will always be remembered in Indian cricket history. Wish you the best moving forward in life. Until next time," Virat Kohli's tweet reads.

Though Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri did not win any ICC trophy, they have managed to crush the SENA countries in their backyards in the T20 series. India won the Border-Gavaskar trophy not once but twice under Shastri's coaching tenure and ended the England series with 2-1 with one match left. The remaining match in the series will be played next year.

After signing off as the head coach, Ravi Shastri gave a speech for the Indian players and termed the team as one of the best to have played the game. Shastri said the current team will be the best in the world.

For the home series against New Zealand, BCCI had rested Virat Kohki and other key players like Bumrah, Jadeja, and Shami. The senior players were rested to reduce their workload. Rohit Sharma was named as the replacement for Virat Kohli as the captain for India in the T 20 format.
