Gujarat-based business tycoon Gautam Adani is the richest person in Asia. His business empire spreads to various areas like ports to power generation to natural gas. The multinational conglomerate named Adani group is based out in Ahmedabad and from there it is running the show.
Though he is rich, Adani's growth can be seen before and after the Covid outbreak. When the whole nation suffered from the outbreak, Gautam Adani shot to super worth as his company started spreading its wings and the Adani group even managed a few ports and airports in India.
Adani company is growing at a level that Gautam Adani even gave tough competition for Mukesh Ambani. Adani defeated Ambani and became the richest man in India and later he became the richest person in Asia. Now Adani grabbed everyone's attention with his new stint as his fortune rose massively.
As another feature in his illustrious cap, Gautam Adani has now emerged as the third-richest man in the world. The updated Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows that Gautam Adani is the third richest person in the world with a fortune of $137.4 billion. Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are ahead of him in the index.
What's even more surprising is that Gautam Adani is the first Asian to make it to the elite list. Earlier too, a few Asians hinted that they would achieve that. However, they could not. Gautam Adani has now achieved what the likes of Mukesh Ambani and Jack Ma from the Dragon country China could not.
His massive empire helped Gautam Adani to see his fortunes go up. If the same trend goes on, we might see Gautam Adani even defeating Amazon's Jeff Bozos. The second richest person in the world has a fortune of $153 billion and Gautam Adani's fortune is around $137 billion. The gap between the two persons' is very less and Gautam Adani is a strong contender.
The other side of the criticism is that a stunning report came out which says that Gautam Adani's empire could be a farce and the company could be overleveraged. The report says that Gautam Adani is aggressively expanding his wings and the empire could run into a deep crisis at the worst.
