The newly appointed white-ball skipper Hitman Rohit Sharma is on a spree of making new records one after the other. After recording two consecutive whitewashes as a skipper, Rohit Sharma went on to make another unique record as the captain of Men in Blue.

After guiding India towards victory against Sri Lanka in the first match of the T20 series, Rohit Sharma had recorded his 10th consecutive, which is the second-highest in the T20 format. Former Afghanistan skipper Asghar Afghan is at the top position with 12 consecutive wins in the T20s. Rohit Sharma has high chances of beating that too.

Rohit Sharma's feat as a skipper also went past India's previous best of nine consecutive wins. A couple of years back, India went on to win nine consecutive wins between 9 Jan and Dec in 2020. Now Rohit Sharma has beaten the previous best record too.

As a personal record, Rohit Sharma emerged as the top run-getter in the short format. His 44 runs helped Rohit Sharma to surpass Martin Guptill(3299) and Virat Kohli(3296). As of now, Rohit Sharma has made 3,307 runs in the T20 format.

In yesterday's match, India had crushed Sri Lanka with an all-round performance. Sri Lanka had won the toss and decided to bowl first. Proving the decision wrong, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Ishaan Kishan gave a flying start to the team. The duo had put a partnership of over 100 runs.

While Rohit Sharma lost his wicket after scoring 44 runs, Ishan Kishan made a stunning knock of 89 runs in just 56 runs. Shreyas Iyer added some fireworks by scoring a quick half-century.

With India scoring 199 for the loss of two wickets, a mammoth target of 200 runs was placed before Sri Lanka. Indian bowlers have successfully defended the score and made the team crush the opponents by 62 runs. The Sri Lanka team had managed to made just137 for six in their quota.

Swing King Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave an early breakthrough and took a wicket in the very first over he bowled. He was economical in bowling. Giving nine runs, he took two wickets. Venkatesh Iyer claimed two wickets for 36, while Yuzvendra Chahal picked a wicket by conceding 11 runs.
