Rohit to lead India for the Test Series for Home Tour!

While the team is busy with the ongoing white ball series against the Caribbean team, West Indies, the next series of India has been finalized, which is also going to be a home series. The squad for the series was announced.
Addressing a press conference, the team of Indian selectors said that Hitman Rohit Sharma will serve as the skipper of the team for the Test series against Sri Lanka. Besides the Test series, both teams will lock horns for a short format series as well.
While Rohit Sharma was picked as the captain for the series, it is not known if the decision applies to the forthcoming series alone or if it applies to the whole format. Rohit Sharma is currently serving as the white-ball captain. He is leading the Indian team in ODI and T20 format.
The selection team had not picked a few senior players over issues on their form. The players who were not picked include Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, and Wriddhiman Saha. To regain form, the players were asked to play first-class cricket.
While a few new players like KS Bharat and spinner Sourabh Kumar were given a spot in the team. Yorker King Jasprit Bumrah was named Rohit Sharma's deputy. Ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was also selected for the tour however, he had to prove his fitness.
