Russia Wenting Out US Anger On Facebook and Meta?

Leading social media giant Facebook is spreading its wings largely across the world. After buying the video-sharing platform Instagram, there is no stopping for Facebook. With Facebook and Instagram in hand, the giant is not stopping. Despite all this, the giant is also facing some issues.

Facebook is also accused of having ties with some parties. Earlier, Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg faced a lot of criticism for his alleged pro-BJP stand as inflammatory posts made by the BJP leaders were not removed unless they became controversial.

After India, Facebook is facing problematic situations in the superpower nation Russia. Since the Russia-Ukraine war started, Russian President Putin has been slamming social media platforms on the issue accruing them of being the mouthpiece of the western nations.

Meta, Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook is labeled as a terrorist and extremist organisation in Russia reportedly as per the reports. Even a few international media outlets carried out a story on this.

This is the new shock faced by Facebook. Earlier, Facebook and Instagram were banned in Russia. Months after that, Mark Zuckerberg was stopped from entering Russia by pulling him out of the Russian foreign ministry.

The back-to-back crackdowns on Facebook and the parent company of Facebook and Instagram raised big doubt among many if Russia wants to take out the anger it has for the United States on Facebook. It is known that the United States has been supporting Ukraine in the ongoing war and slammed Russia many times.

The United States even took the Russia and Ukraine war to the United Nations and called for voting. Compared to the other nations, America has been aggressively targeting Russia playing the Big Brother role. This has hurt Russia and President Putin.

The fight started by the United States resulted in a few sanctions by European Union. At regular intervals. EU is imposing sanctions and with this big firms and companies are moving out of Russia to escape the sanctions. All these things might have made Russia grow anger towards the United States and the anger translated towards Facebook, an American-based platform.
