Is KCR losing his Midas touch in Munugode? Where are his magical persuasion skills? Why did he not succeed in persuading the numerically strong Yadava and Kuruma community to support the ruling TRS? Why did the Yadavs and Kurumas move away from the ruling party and veer towards the Bharatiya Janata Party?
In a significant development, the Kuruma and Yadavs have slammed KCR and the TRS despite the dole of free sheep disbursal proposal. A special breed of sheep which yield more wool are being brought from Bihar to be distributed among the Kurumas and Yadavs. But, despite that, the community leaders have chosen to meet BJP's national general secretary and union minister Bhupinder Yadav. They decided to extend their support to the BJP.
Munugode constituency is unique in the sense that at least 72 per cent of the voters in the community are from the BC category. Yadavs, Kurumas, Munnuru Kapus, Gouds and Mudirajus are among the most prominent BC communities in the constituency. The BJP has credible Munnuru Kapu leadership in the form of Bandi Sanjay and strong Mudiraj leadership in the form of Eatala Rajender.
To woo the Yadavs and Kurumas, union minister Bhupinder Yadav has been pressed into service. He has already met the Yadavs and Kurumas from Munugode the other day. After the meeting, they expressed their support to the BJP. This is being seen as a major coup of sorts for the BJP.
