Bihar Polls: Shiv Sena's Mouthpiece Credits Shiv Sena For Nitish Retaining CM Post
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Nov 2020 1:09 PM GMTBharatiya Janata Party(BJP)'s former ally Shiv Sena responded to the National Democratic Alliance(NDA)'s win in the Bihar Assembly polls and said the Shiv Sena should be credited for Nitish Kumar retaining his CM post.
Referring to Maharashtra polls in 2019, Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamana maintained that BJP broke the promise made before the elections to make Shiv Sena's candidate as CM which resulted in the parties calling for severing ties.
In the Bihar Assembly polls, JD(U) has won less than 50 seats. On the other hand, the BJP won 70 seats. Despite this, BJP said Nitish Kumar will be made CM as promised earlier.
The Shiv Sena heaped praises on Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, who gave a tough fight for the NDA in the elections. The Mahagatbandhan won 110 seats out of 243 seats.
After BJP refused to make Shiv Sena's candidate as Chief Minister, Shiv Sena joined hands with the Congress and NCP and formed the government as a coalition.
Shiv Sena's mouthpiece carried out the editorial with a message that if BJP would have stuck to its promise, then Maharashtra would have not faced the political storm. Looks like Shiv Sena is mocking BJP even after severing ties.
To increase its base and emerge as a National party Shiv Sena even contested in the Bihar Polls. However, Shiv Sena failed to create any impact as the party barely won 0.05 percent votes, which is less compared to NOTA which fetched 1.68 percent votes.
