The tall party in Maharashtra Shiv Sena suffered a big shock as it was stripped off the power by its own members. A few MLAs shifted their loyalties to rebel leader Eknath Shinde and made him the Chief Minister with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Shiv Sena's strong voice Sanjay Raut who never shies away from using strong language against the opposition was arrested in connection with an alleged money laundering case. He has been in prison for over three months. As a big development, he was granted bail by a special court today.
The Rajya Sabha member was on the radar of the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged money laundering case. After conducting a few searches in the office and residences that belong to him he was taken into custody and was then arrested and sent to jail.
The new development can be seen as a big breaking in state politics. Now Shiv Sena wants a strong voice to target the BJP and the serving Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. With Sanjay Raut getting released from the court the Shiv Sena will be in a strong position and we might see Shiv Sena targeting the BJP aggressively.
Things turned worse between BJP and Shiv Sena long-time allies after both parties had contrasting views on sharing power. While BJP said it will take the Chief Minister position, Shiv Sena proposed the idea of sharing the power for two and a half years. Seeing that Eknath Shinde is turning into a rebel, BJP went into touch and made him the Chief Minister.
