Sidelined YCP Leader eyeing opposition TDP?

Leaders from the opposition party joining the ruling party for a better future is common and we have seen this many times. As an interesting and surprising development, a leader is making many heads turn with his decision to join the opposition party from the ruling party.

As per the media reports, YCP leader Yarlagadda Venkat Rao, who could not win the 2019 elections from the Gannavaram constituency is gearing up to wear the Telugu Desam Party shawl as he is not getting enough importance in the party reportedly.

The equations in Gannavaram had changed after the 2019 general elections. After the Telugu Desam Party lost the elections, the migrations started from the party. While a few MPs have joined the BJP, legislators started to look at YCP.

Post the elections, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan had switched his sides to the ruling party. Though he did not join the YCP totally, he is supporting the ruling party on every possible occasion causing great humiliation to the TDP.

Not just that, Vamsi also turned critic of Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu and has been targeting him. All his actions are making him enjoy the limelight while the YCP leader is not seen in the frame.'

Vamsi even alleged that Chandrababu puts a leader against others whenever there are issues and this makes him dangerous. The MLA alleged that Chandrababu Naidu might have a role in Paritala Ravi's death.

With all these things, the YCP leader is said to have thought that he is not getting the importance, and with Vamsi getting strong in the constituency and the party, the senior leader from ruling YCP Yarlagadda Venkat Rao had opted to join the grand old Telugu Desam Party.

The main question here is, will the senior leader get an opportunity to contest the next general elections on the Telugu Desam Party ticket. Given the hold he has in the Gannavaram constituency, the Telugu Desam Party might put him against the defected MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan.

But what are the winning chances he has? Will he be able to give a tough fight to Vamsi? Or will he beat him to win the Assembly constituency, well only time will answer this?
