Simmons project: AP CID raids former IAS Residence!

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department(CID) had upped the game in the alleged Skill Development scandal. To gather more information, the officials are digging deeper into the issue and carrying out searches in the house of the suspects in the much-talked-about scandal.
Intensifying the probe, the CIF officials have conducted raids at the residence of former IAS officer Lakshminarayana to look for more information on the case. His name surfaced in the case as he held the position of the Skill Development Corporation Director. He was accused of being involved in irregularities while implementing the training seasons.
As there were allegations that a multi-crore scam might have taken place in the project, the Andhra Pradesh government had focused on the case. After the Police probed the case, it was subsequently handed over to the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
The initial investigation had reportedly unearthed a scam that amounted to more than Rs 200 crore. As the evidence proved that Lakshminarayana might have a role in the scandal, the investigation officers served notices to the retired IAS officer and conducted raids at his residence.
The retired IAS officer had served as the Personal Secretary to TDP chief, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu during his tenure as the leader of the state.
