Besides seizing them, the concerned authorities are also slapping the theatres with fines on the grounds of not following the prescribed rules and guidelines.
As per the media reports, the revenue officials and officers from other departments are inspecting the theatres to look for various issues like the ticket fares, safety norms, facilities, Covid protocols, and others. If they found any violations, then the officials are serving notices to the concerned management.
As of now, the officials who are conducting the statewide searches have issued show-cause notices to as many as 28 theaters in the Prakasam district and more than 50 theatres were seized in Chittoor district alone. The number of theaters that are being shut on the grounds of various violations is going on.
Reports say that as of now more than 60 theatres across the state were shut. The officials are not leaving any stone unturned to check for the violations and not shying away from slapping the theater owners with show-cause notices directing them to shut the places. A few theatres that don't have the required licenses were also seized.
