Surrogacy Row: Officials Probing Matter From Hospital's Angle?

For the past few days, Lady Superstar Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan are in the middle of the news due to various reasons. Recently, they announced the happy news of welcoming twins. More than the birth of the twins, the controversy around the news has been receiving a wide range of attention from various corners.
Within five months of getting married, the couple welcomed the twins and this raised many questions. The couple landed in a big controversy as many feel that the couple might have violated the surrogacy law and gone for the kids. The issue became a big controversy that the Health Department called for a detailed inquiry.
The Officials in the Tamil Nadu Health Department started probing the matter and investigating the matter from various corners. As surrogacy is not possible without the help of a hospital facility, the officials are reportedly investigating the issue from this angle.
If any hospital is found to be involved in this, then the facility would also have to face serious action. Though nothing is proven as of now, the investigation is going on and once the credible information lands in the hands of officials, then they might take the required action.
Reports say that the officials are checking hospitals that offer surrogacy services as part of the investigation to see if the couple went there or not. It appears like the health department in Tamil Nadu is not leaving the issue and giving its best in the probe.
Earlier, the Indian government made some amendments to the surrogacy law and made it clear that the violators of the law would have to face jail term and fine too. One of the guidelines under the law is the couple going for surrogacy should be married for at least five years. Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan married recently.
If the surrogacy charges are proven, then the doctors and hospital will also have to face the punishment. However, there is no clarity on whether the doctors gave counseling to Nayanthara and Vignesh or not. On the other side, there is also an opinion that the couple might have gone for surrogacy abroad.
