TDP in 'wait-and-watch' mode as Ganta remains tight-lipped

He is a veteran of many battles and has made a name for himself by banking on the winning horse whenever a choice had to be made. Only in 2019 did his calculations go wrong. He backed the TDP, but the YSRCP had won. Since then, this leader has been keeping a low profile. His moves are mysterious and all the political parties are watching his activities with interest and concern. The leader in question is none other than former minister and Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
Ganta is currently inactive. He has not been attending any major programme. He has even chosen to skip key party meetings attended by Chandrababu Naidu himself. Recently, the party organised a key meeting at the Mangalagiri headquarters in Guntur district. Many thought that Ganta would attend the meeting. But, he did not. His absence was a topic of debate both within and outside the party.
Sources say that despite Ganta's intransigence, Chandrababu Naidu cannot afford to lose him as he is quite resourceful and knows the art of winning. He has a huge support base. Sources also say that he had direct access to Chandrababu Naidu even now. But, why he is maintaining silence remains a mystery.
Sources close to Ganta say that he is in a wait and watch mode and that he is exploring all available options before 2024. He might take a plunge ahead of the elections. Sources also say that he is waiting for the alliance with either Jana Sena or the BJP or both to be formed before the 2024 elections. His supporters say that Ganta's silence has many meanings. The TDP meanwhile is in a waiting mode.
