TDP shocked as YSRCP installing NTR statue in Nimmakuru
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 March 2022 2:59 AM GMTWho is talking more about the late NTR in Krishna district these days? Shocking but true. It is the YSRCP which is talking about NTR a lot more than the TDP, the party NTR himself founded. The YSRCP, it appears, is in mission mode to appropriate NTR.
First it was the decision to name Krishna district after NTR. Now, a plan is afoot to install a massive statue of NTR in NTR's native village of Nimmakuru. Pamarru MLA K Anil Kumar met the government officials and got permission to install NTR statue in Nimmakuru. The YSRCP leaders are actively involved in carving out the statue in Nimmakuru.
Needless to say, the TDP is both peeved and worried because the YSRCP is appropriating NTR from the TDP. Interestingly, the TDP never thought of either naming a district or setting up a statue of NTR. Lokesh did adopt Nimmakuru, but he never thought of setting up a statue. Also, the unsavoury chapter of Chandrababu back-stabbing NTR is also coming to the fore whenever the TDP tried to do something in NTR's name.
The YSRCP has cleverly taken up the issue. Though there are small statues of both NTR and his wife Basava Tarakam, there is no statue befitting NTR's stature in his home village. So, the party is now planning to set up a huge statue in Nimmakuru. The TDP is in a fix as it can neither support the initiative nor oppose it.
