The grand old Telugu Desam Party is focused on winning the next general elections as it is very crucial for its further existence in politics. For this, party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced a tour in his Assembly constituency Kuppam. As per the schedule, the tour should start on Wednesday.

But the ongoing developments hint that the Kuppam tour might not happen. First, the Chittor Police said no to permission to hold meetings and roadshows in Kuppam. Saying that no proper response was received the cops allegedly denied the permission citing the recent Government Order that was issued banning roadshows and public events.

After denying permission for the events, the cops reportedly stopped the campaign vehicles of TDP. Alleging that no permission was sought the cops stopped the vehicles and reportedly took the keys of the vehicles. This led to a tense situation.

After reportedly taking the keys of the campaign vehicles, the sound systems, drivers, and helpers were shifted to the nearby police station. The Telugu Desam Party leaders are giving their best in getting the party activists out of the Police Station.

Tension gripped Kuppam as the cops and Telugu Desam Party leaders indulged in a heated argument on this. While the party leaders alleged that there is a conspiracy behind this and the permission was not granted on purpose the cops are saying that they are just following the rules.

Cops were deployed in Kuppam ahead of the TDP chief’s tour. To see that no unwanted scenes take place Police personnel were deployed in big numbers as a precautionary measure. GO says no public events can be held without permission in public places.

On the other hand, the Telugu Desam Party leaders are adamant to hold the events as per the earlier schedule. But the recently issued Government Order prohibits say. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to reach Kuppam via road from Bangalore to meet people as part of the tour.

The Government Order was issued by Andhra Pradesh Home Department after stampede incidents in Kandukur and Guntur. A few victims passed away in both incidents. The incidents triggered severe criticism against the opposition party that it batted a blind eye towards the arrangements.
