Tension Keeps On Increasing In BJP!

The much-awaited general elections are 36 hours away and ahead of this, tension gripped the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Lingayat body extending its support to the Congress party for the elections is the reason behind this.
Lingayats and Vokkaligas have been playing a key role in Kannada politics for a long time. When one community supports a party, the other community supports the other party. There are a few occasions where both communities supported a party. But that happened very rarely.
There is growing tension on which community would vote for which party in the elections that would be started on Wednesday. Both Congress and BJP are focusing on the Lingayats' vote now.
There is a reason behind this. The Lingayat community accounts for around 16 percent of votes in the state. Whom the community supports would be close to victory. Vokkaligas, SCs, Upper Castes, and the Muslim community are the other deciding factors in the elections.
But the issue faced by the Bharatiya Janata Party is that seniors in the Lingayat community like Yediyurappa are with the party. But other crucial leaders like Jagadish Shettar left the BJP and joined the Congress party as they were not given party tickets. There is an opinion that there would be cracks in the Lingayat community with this. Adding fuel to this, the state Lingayat Association came forward and announced its support for the Congress party for the elections.
Looking at this, people like B. S. Yediyurappa are feeling tense in the Bharatiya Janata Party. As a safety measure, the party wanted to seek support from a few Lingayat swamijis. But that did not happen. With no option left, Yediyurappa is claiming that all the swamijis are supporting the BJP.
Heads of the Mathas and Peethas hold a big significance in the Karnataka elections. As far as the upcoming elections are concerned, it appears that there is a big confusion in the Lingayat community compared to other communities. This is said to be having a big impact on the BJP. The pre-poll surveys are saying that the BJP is not the favorite in the elections. On top of this, the Lingayat community is reportedly shocking the BJP. We have to wait and see what happens next.
