This party has become a true
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Aug 2020 7:04 AM GMTWhere is the CPI is heading in Telangana? For long the Left Parties have earned the pejorative "Toka Parties". This means they are like tails to other big parties. In Telangana, they seem to have reconciled themselves as the appendage of the ruling TRS.
The trend began during the Huzurnagar byelections, when the CPI openly backed the TRS. Though the party officially, withdrew its stand in the face of severe public criticism, its cadre had worked for the TRS victory in Huzurnagar. The CPI has also stopped taking to streets on every issue. Even when the poor people were evicted for various irrigation projects, the party did not respond. Now, the latest in this series of surrenders is party senior leader K Narayana's statement that the party welcomes KTR as chief minister of Telangana.
Where has the CPI of yore gone? The party that waged relentless battles for the poor and took to streets for every possible cause is now all but dead. Long live revolution, revolution is no more.
