It was a tough day for Virat Men in the first match against Pakistan in the T 20 World Cup. The opening match between the arch-rivals in the game saw Pakistan registering its biggest win against India. With a dominating performance, Pakistan had won against India with a margin of ten wickets.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami found himself in the middle of the trouble after the netizens targeted him over his spell in the match. The trolls even questioned the faith of Shami and accused the speedster of playing for Pakistan. A section of netizens went on to call the player a traitor.

After the online abuse, the members of the Indian Cricket fraternity, politicians, and a few netizens supported Shami and hit back at the online trolls. To stand in solidarity with the pacer, old videos of Shami dismantling the Pakistan batting order in various matches like the 2015 Cricket World Cup 2015. He claimed four wickets and played a big role in winning the match.

Amid the support received by Mohammed Shami, a viral video of him confronting a Pakistan fan after the defeat of the 2017 Champions Trophy went viral. The supporters are appealing to the trollers to not target a player who plays for the country.

After the Champions Trophy defeat, a Pakistan fan asked Baap Kaun(Who is the father) when Shami was leaving the ground. Shami confronted the fan.

Earlier AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had made objections to the online abuse against Shami and said this is an attack against Muslims. He even asked the ruling BJP at the Centre to condemn the attack.

India lost early wickets and had managed to put up a score of just 152. Despite no support from the other players, captain Virat Kohli made a half-century. With his heroics, India could cross the 150 run mark. Chasing the score, Pakistan won the match by 10 wickets with openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam making a partnership of 152 runs.
