TRS mulling replacing 30 sitting MLAs?
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Sep 2022 8:02 AM GMTThe TRS top boss is said to have prepared a list of 30 MLAs, whose success or otherwise would seal the fate of the party in the elections that would be held next year. The acts of omission and commission of these MLAs will make their success at the hustings quite difficult, say TRS insiders. If these 30 seats are lost, it would become quite difficult for the TRS to form the government again.
Highly placed sources say that the TRS think-tanks have prepared detailed reports about these leaders. In the 2018 elections, the TRS had won 88 of the 119 seats. But, later strategies by the TRS boss engineered defections and the strength rose to 100. But, this has led to several problems between the sitting MLAs, who had won on other party's tickets and the defeated TRS candidates. Intense competition in the constituencies has created a lot of confusion.
KCR too has now realised that some of the MLAs are highly unpopular in their respective constituencies. Groupism is adding to the problems. Hence he is mulling replacing at least some of the candidates whose victory is reportedly doubtful. At least 30 such names are circulating in the TRS circles.
With the BJP working very hard to unseat the TRS, KCR wants to be extra careful. He wants to ensure that nothing is left to chance. So, he is said to have advised them to improve their image in the constituency. They have been told to work hard and reach out to the voters. If they fail to improve their standing in the constituency, they would be replaced with winnable candidates, say sources.
