TTD Board To Go Through Big Reshuffle?

It is a dream for many to get a place in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) board that runs the holy shrine of Kaliyuga Daivam Venkateswara. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's uncle YV Subba Reddy got the big opportunity to serve as the Chairman of the board.

Whatever might be the reason YV Subba Reddy got the opportunity to serve as the TTD Chairman twice not just once. Now what we are hearing is that Reddy is in no mood to continue as the Chairman and wants to enter the political space.

He reportedly conveyed the same to Jagan and the Chief Minister started looking for names to run the board as per the media reports. Three names are circulating largely as the possible replacement for YV Subba Reddy as the Chairman of TTD.

Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, and MLC Janga Krishna Murthy are the three names are in consideration for the post as per the media reports. It is said that the board might be reshuffled in a few weeks.

Looking at the chances of the three, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is not new to the post and he served as the TTD Chairman during the combined state when YSR was in power. If the Chief Minister wants to go for seniority and give the position to an experienced person then Karunakar Reddy might get the post.

Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy might also get the post as the legislator has been loyal to the YS family and Jagan. If loyalty is considered then the MLA might get a golden chance to serve as the Chairman of the temple board.

In the case of Janga Krishna Murthy, the MLC might get the chance if a non-Reddy person should be appointed. The ruling YSRCP has been facing severe criticism that only the Reddy community is getting preferred in any nominated posts.

This is partially true as many posts were given to the Reddy community members. With the same community getting preference in the temple boards as well the criticism became intense. If the government wants to move away from the criticism then we might see a non-Reddy member serving as a chairman.
