Union Cabinet Makes Way For Countering Fake Votes!

The duplication of votes and the fake votes often create troubles during polls. In a few instances, we have seen how the fake votes influence the final verdict of the election result. This is a serious issue that had to be addressed at the earliest.
As a bid to counter this, the proposal to link the Aadhaar with voter ID had started long back. Though the proposal is an old one, there has been no quality development towards implementing the much-talked-about proposal.
But the process of making the proposal a reality was started after the Union Government had reportedly approved a few electoral reforms including the linking of the Aadhar Card with the Voter ID Card. With this, the voters will not be able to cast their votes remotely.
After the Election Commission of India had placed a few suggestions before the Law Ministry which were cleared by the Union Cabinet. This can be seen as a big development in countering the vote duplication.
Once the proposal gets effective, the duplicate votes can be countered and the fake votes can be cleared enabling the voters to exercise their right to vote. The remote votes will also be countered.
Those who have more than one vote in different places cannot cast their votes due to this and only one vote that is linked with the Aadhar Card will be accepted. However, it has been widely reported that the process of linking the Aadhaar cards with voter IDs is going to be a voluntary basis as a pilot project.
The seed of linking the Aadhar Card and Voter ID Cards was planted back in 2019. After the Supreme Court had directed the Union Government to focus on linking the chords to reform the electoral process, the government had started looking into the matter.
It took nearly two years for the proposal to get momentum in getting into effect. Though the process has not started officially, it will not take much time in the process to get started in linking the two important cards, which the nationals of the country will have as proof of their existence.
