The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) ruled Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to witness the longest express highway as the foundation stone for the same was laid by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi today. The 594-km long Ganga Expressway is touted to be the longest express highway that would cover several districts in Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Uttar Pradesh today for the ceremony and laid the foundation stone for the same. The yet-to-be constructed Ganga Expressway will start from Meerut’s Bijauli village and end at the Judapur Dandu village

Keeping the future needs in mind, the expressway is being constructed in a way that it comes with a six-lane and can be expandable. West and east regions of the state will get connected with the expressway with a whopping budget of 36,230 crore.

As per the information shared by the news agencies, the expressway also comes with an airstrip that would spread in 3.5 km. The airstrip would be constructed so that the Indian Air Force air carriers can get help during the emergency landing.

After laying the foundation stone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering and said, compared to the previous government, the current government led by Yogi is useful. Lauding the state government, Modi said, as many as dozens of medical colleges were opened in Uttar Prasad.
