Virat Kohlis Press Meet Highlights ODI Captaincy Controversy!

Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli needs no introduction. Over the years, he established himself as one of the best players in the world. Increasing his stature in the team, he was named as the successor of Mahendra Singh Dhoni after he stepped down as the skipper. Kohli had achieved what the previous skippers could not, by winning the Test series in Australia and England.

However, he was replaced by Hitman Rohit Sharma as the skipper of the limited-overs format all of a sudden which kickstarted a new controversy. The issue received a mixed response from the fans. While Rohit Sharma fans are happy about it, Kohli fans slammed the BCCI over the decision.

Adding fuel to the controversy, Virat Kohli who held a press briefing on Wednesday ahead of the South Africa series had countered BCCI's claims and said he was not informed by the BCCI regarding the ODI captaincy and said he was informed just one and a half hours before the Test team was selected.

As if that is not enough, Virat Kohli even said that when he informed the BCCI about his decision of leaving the T20 captaincy he was not asked by the BCCI to not step down instead they have accepted it without any issues. Virat Kohli added that there was no communication between him and the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI).

The only good thing about the press conference is that Virat Kohli said things between him and Rohit Sharma are fine and he has nothing to do with the reports on the alleged issues with Rohit.

After Virat Kohli's explosive Press conference shed light on the alleged opinion that things are not well in the Indian team, the BCCI had swung into action and kept itself busy with the damage control measures.

Former players and veteran players are now asking BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly to step in right away to clear the air on the issue or else the controversy surrounding it will not get stopped. It's the right time for the BCCI and Virat Kohli to hold a joint press conference and put an end to this.
