We Cannot Interfere In New Year Celebrations Matter:TS Hc!

The petition seeking special directives to have Maharashtra and Delhi-like restrictions across the state for the eve of New Year keeping the Omicron situation in mind had reached the Telangana High court which came up for the hearing on Friday, a day ahead of the New Year celebrations.
After the arguments, the Division Bench said that it cannot interfere in the matter saying that the Police department had already issued restrictions for the celebrations. With the restrictions already being issued, we cannot interfere in it, said the bench hearing the plea.
However, the Division Bench also issued directives to the Telangana Government to make sure that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Union Government is implemented in the state and the facilities to deal with the situation are ramped up.
The Division Bench of Telangana High Court which comprises Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice N Tukaramji heard the bunch of petitions that were filed in the court to seek instructions for special restrictions.
The petitioners had knocked on the doors of the High Court challenging the Government Order issued by the Telangana Sarkar to permit the bars and pubs to run the business till midnight on December 31st. They were represented by their lawyers.
During the arguments, the lawyers representing the petitioners told the court that earlier, the court directed the government to go for the restrictions. However, the government paved the way for the increase in the working hours of the establishments.
The lawyers sought directives to cancel the Government Order and the new year celebrations should be canceled. Whatsoever, the Telangana High Court was not satisfied with the arguments and said the court can't interfere in the matter.
While saying so, the Court asked the Telangana government to implement the Covid guidelines on a stricter note.
The Telangana government had permitted the liquor stalls, bars, and pubs to serve liquor till 1 AM on the eve of New Year. To create space for the public to have a responsible celebration by running special buses on December 31st at midnight. These services will be run in selected routes.
