Users across the globe faced a lot of issues using WhatsApp after the platform went down. For around a couple of hours, the platform became inaccessible to users in Mobile and desktop versions. After creating an outrage for a few hours the messaging app is now back to normal.
The Meta company swung into action swiftly and made sure that things gets normal at the earliest. A leading social media platform like WhatsApp getting down has raised many doubts. The company has employees working in almost every nation and it has huge servers.
Despite all this Meta-run WhatsApp went down and this impacted the workflow in many nations. India is no exemption to this and the employees working across the metro cities including the national capital Delhi could not access the messaging app for their day-to-day work and requirements.
Despite having huge servers and the backup facilities WhatsApp has, the app went down. There are a few doubts about whether the app was subjected to a cyber attack. Cyber crimes are on the rise in the world and cyber attackers are targeting various websites and servers.
If Cyber crimes attack is a reality then the issue is a serious one as people across the fields including Military and Army forces use the service for communication. Once the attackers can get their hands on this then we can assume what disaster it can bring.
Coming to India, it is an even bigger concern as we have issues with nations like Pakistan and the dragon country China. Pakistan is not in a position to hire cyber attackers and use them against India as the financial position of the nation won't support it.
Tense situations between China and India are going on for a few decades and if the crucial information lands in China's hands then India can be in big danger.
Amid the growing concerns, the Indian government reportedly swung into action and asked Meta India for a report on WhatsApp down and asked the company about the reasons which caused the down. The representatives of Meta India are expected to meet the government and submit the report.
