What Is Somu Veerraju's Game Plan?

Is newly elected AP BJP president Somu Veerraju trying to show that he is not a protege of the ruling YSRCP? Is he trying to show that he has a mind of his own? Is he trying to show that he can attack both the TDP as well as the YSRCP?
After sending clear signals that he will brook no cross-party affiliation in the BJP, he is now trying to send signals that he is not going to be pro-YSRCP. He is trying to prove that he would keep equal distance from both the parties. The other day, he took up the issue of attack on Guntur police by a section of the people in 2018. He said that while the police had booked a case against party worker Sadineni Yamini for commenting on SVBC for not telecasting the Bhumi Pujan of Ayodhya Ram temple, the case against those who attacked a police station in 2018 was removed.
This is being seen as Veerraju's effort to project himself as neutral. He wants to show that he is opposed to both the TDP and the YSRCP and is a neutral leader. He also wants to position the BjP as a party that would emerge as the third alternative in AP. Will he succeed or not remains to be seen.
