Things are not got well for team India as far as the captaincy is concerned. King Kohli left the captaincy and Rohit Sharma replaced him. But Hitman Rohit Sharma could not make wonders as the skipper and a new debate is going on that Hardik Pandya should be made the skipper.

Keeping long-term needs in mind many feel that Hardik Pandya should lead the team in the short format. The opinion got momentum after the Men In Blue defeated Sri Lanka in the T20 series. In the last match, India crushed the island team with a big margin of over 90 runs.

The way Hardik Pandya used the bowling options impressed many. He regularly changed the bowling options and made it tough for the Sri Lankan batsmen. As he is an all-rounder Pandya also bowled a few overs and took wickets. With this series, he once again proved how crucial he is for the team.

After the T20 win the demand grew bigger and the likes of Ajay Jadeja opinioned that Hardik Pandya should lead the team in T20s. Jadeja even gave the example of former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He said that Dhoni saw a leader in Virat Kohli and handed over the captaincy to him and it was not the BCCI that did that.

Giving the example of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli Ajay Jadeja said that the same should happen and Rohit Sharma should give the captaincy to Hardik Pandya. The ace player said that Rohit Sharma is a good captain but Hardik Pandya should be groomed as the next skipper.

When a lot of debate is going on current captain Rohit Sharma reacted to this and said that he has no plans of leaving captaincy in the T20s. Talking about the workload Rohit said that players are playing back-to-back games and to manage their workload they are given a break and he also falls in the category.

Having said that, Rohit Sharma said he is not thinking about leaving the T20 captaincy and he has not taken any decision on this yet. "So we will look after those boys till we get to the IPL, and see what happens after that. But certainly, I have not decided to give up the format," Rohit Sharma said.
