Why BJP is keeping mouth shut in AP?
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 July 2022 8:43 AM GMTThe BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh are facing a strange problem. They can criticise neither the ruling YSRCP nor the TDP. The reason? Both the parties have extended their full support to BJP's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. Hence the BJP is finding it difficult to attack these two parties.
The YSRCP has been associated with the whole process of candidate selection and the national leadership of the BJP has constantly kept in touch with the top brass of the YSRCP. The party has extended a whole-hearted support to the BJP candidate. As a result, the BJP has toned down its attacks on the YSRCP.
Meanwhile, the TDP too has extended its support to the BJP in the presidential elections. Though the BJP has not solicited the support, the TDP on its own announced that it would support Draupadi Murmu. Till now, the BJP used to attack the TDP along with the YSRCP. But, now, it has decided to go slow on the TDP too.
As a result, the BJP leaders in Andhra Pradesh are maintaining a studious silence on both the TDP and the YSRCP. Sources say that this silence will have to continue till the vice-presidential election is over. The BJP needs the support of the YSRCP in the vice-presidential election too. Till then, the BJP will have to keep silent on criticising the rival parties. Interestingly, Draupadi Murmu is going to get 100 per cent votes in AP despite the state not having even a single MLA or MP.
