Remember T Anjaiah, the chief minister who is considered singularly responsible for the emergence of the Telugu Desam Party? Anjaiah was the chief minister when Rajiv Gandhi, then national general secretary of the Congress Party , came to Hyderabad. As Rajiv was getting into the chopper, one of his chappal fell down. There was a competition in the Congress Party as to who would pick the chappal up.
Portly Anjayya, older to Rajiv Gandhi by at least two decades,outbeat others and carried the chappal to Rajiv Gandhi. This one incident showed the servitude of the Congress CM. This incident incited the Telugu pride and self-respect and NTR seized this moment to become the CM of Andhra Pradesh.
On Sunday, a similar incident occurred near the Ujjain Mahankali temple in Secunderabad. Amit Shah prayed at the temple and when he came out, Sanjay rushed to pick his footwear and keep it near the feet of Amit Shah. The TRS quickly grabbed this issue and highlighted this.The TRS is claiming that Bandi Sanjay has insulted the Telangana pride by doing what he did. It is clear that the TRS wants to show that the state BJP leaders are servants of the national leaders.
