Will CBI Take Action Against Lieutenant Governor?
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Aug 2022 11:00 AM GMTThe political landscape in the national capital Delhi changed at once when the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party brought the alleged liquor scam by the ruling AAP. The issue took many twists and turns and the CBI even searched the house of the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister in connection with the case.
The face-off between AAP and BJP started turning intense with each passing day. The other day, the MLAs of both parties held a protest in Delhi. Hitting back at the BJP, the AAP made a stunning allegation against Delhi Lt Governor (LG) VK Saxena that he is involved in a big scam.
The AAP is alleging that when Saxena was the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), he indulged in corruption worth Rs 1,600 crore by making the staff and employees change the old notes to new ones when the demonetisation was announced. They say that in Khadi Scam, he got involved in the scam.
The new news is that the AAP might move the CNI against Saxena in connection with the scam. Seeking strict action against the LG, a delegation led by the AAP might approach the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in this regard.
Looking at the current developments and the intense war of words between AAP and BJP, the Delhi government might move the CBI and we cannot rule out the possibility. Moreover, the BJP made it tough for the AAP with the alleged liquor scam and even the Deputy Chief Minister faced the heat of it.
The AAP is waiting for the right occasion to give a big shock to the saffron party and the alleged Khadi Scam gave the much-needed opportunity to target the Bharatiya Janata Party. We cannot expect AAP to lose the golden opportunity.
However, the question is whether CBI will take any action against Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena. There has been a strong criticism that the Union government led by BJP is using the central agencies CBI and ED to set the political scores. It is interesting to see if the Central agency will take the action against the Lieutenant Governor.
