Will Chandrababu replace this veteran leader?

Though Chandrababu Naidu is making a last-ditch attempt to revive the party and resuscitate the fortunes of the TDP, several party veterans seem to be stuck in the old mould and are refusing to change. One such constituency is the prestigious Kakinada urban and the TDP veteran in question is Vanamadi Kondababu aka Venkateswar Rao.
The biggest problem with Vanamadi Kondababu is that he is almost always unavailable in Kakinada. His elder brother Satyanarayana is managing the affairs of the party in the city. However, his abrasive working style has alienated several key party functionaries. As a result, the prestigious Badude Badudu programme of the party has failed in the constituency. This has led to a lot of resentment in Kakinada.
Several TDP leaders and cadres too have lodged complaints against the working style of Kondababu. They told Chandrababu Naidu that the party would lose heavily if Kondababu is continued as the party affairs incharge in Kakinada. Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that even Chandrababu Naidu is planning to remove him from the post in Kakinada.
Kondababu is from the fisherfolk community and became well-known in Kakinada through his social service activities. He later joined the TDP and became an MLA. He was an MLA in 1999 and 2014. Of late, he has lost touch with the constituency. The situation has come to such a pass that even his nephew had lost the municipal corporation elections.
